Recently Broadsheet teamed up with Ben Williamson, head chef of Gerard’s Bistro, to host The Family Table – a five-course dinner inspired by the chef’s own family gatherings.

The feast was held at award-winning Gerard’s Bistro in Fortitude Valley, and featured dishes which threw back to Williamson’s youth, each paired with a matching Brown Brothers Patricia wine.

Guests were treated to Granny Margret’s Chicken Soup and a crab sandwich for canapés; abalone schnitzel, corned beef and white sauce with buttered cabbage and roast lamb with potatoes over cooked greens for mains; and ice-cream with Milo and Ice Magic for dessert.

Each dish was paired with one of the five wines from the Brown Brothers Patricia collection, named after the Brown family’s matriarch, Patricia Brown.
