Cheese and salt. Fritzenberger is already expert at both. Its Classic Cheeseburger is one of the best in town, while the Caxton Street restaurant’s salt station – offering everything from roast chicken to Vegemite and beetroot – is for many punters the best thing about the whole place.

Perhaps it was only a matter of time, then, until Fritzenburger created the Twisties Salt Fritzen Burger. Released tomorrow, it promises everything that makes Fritzenburger’s burgers some of the better examples you can find in Brisbane – Byron hinterland grass-fed beef, soft milk bun, hydroponic lettuce, house-made Fritzensauce – but with a patty coated in an ungodly amount of Twisties salt.

The burgers are being launched tomorrow, along with a new passionfruit Kölsch beer, which boasts 30 litres of passionfruit pulp per brew.

Sounds like a Saturday afternoon, right there.
