Five To Try: The Best Food and Drink Offerings To Check Out at Queen’s Wharf

Since opening last year, Queen’s Wharf has made its mark on the River City’s skyline. But it’s more than just a place to enjoy a great view: The Star Brisbane houses a line-up of top-tier eats, from casual bites to essential experiences perfect for special occasions – whether it’s just two of you or a group that’s ready to celebrate.
Still haven’t checked out the riverside precinct? Here are our picks of the best food and drink to sample at Queen’s Wharf Brisbane.
Sokyo
Sashimi might be the star of the show at Sokyo , but the proteins cooked over the robata charcoal grill shouldn’t be missed either. The dry-aged Wollemi duck breast with a honey glaze is a particular hit. Korean-born chef Alex Yu leads the team, bringing his “sashimi florist” status to the table. His intimate chef's sushi counter experience seats just nine guests and delivers 10 theatrically prepared courses each night. Secure a spot for your next big date night.
Aloria
Aloria serves classic European fare atop the Sky Deck. If you can avert your eyes from the view for a moment, you’ll find a menu that spotlights seasonal produce and traditional techniques, but made modern. Take the signature smoked carrot tartare as an example: carrot is elevated in this zero-waste dish that makes use of the whole vegetable, from tops to roots. If you’re looking for a spot to celebrate with friends and family as summer hits full swing, the kitchen offers a $70 lunch set menu from Wednesday to Sunday, as well as a shared banquet for $129 per person any day of the week.
Fat Noodle
Luke Nguyen’s Fat Noodle has been a Brisbane favourite for more than a decade. The restaurant’s new digs at The Star serve up house signatures – including the iconic Fat Pho – to long-time lovers and new fans alike. A legendary dish, the pho sees thinly sliced Angus sirloin and brisket float in 20-hour beef broth with fresh rice noodles. If you come with a crew and can’t decide what to order, the $75 banquet menu covers off the classics, and then some.
Cucina Regina
Cucina Regina brings a little slice of la dolce vita to Brisbane. The snack menu is primed for a sunset aperitivo, and the decadent tiramisu is served tableside. But if you’re in the mood for carbs, a Roman favourite is turned on its head with the rigatoni carbonara. And at $89 a head, the banquet menu delivers long-lunch energy, from the puffed pizza bread to the veal scallopine.
Babblers
Back on the Sky Deck, Babblers offers a casual-cool spot to drink in riverside views for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Early birds can indulge in a flatbread sando with streaky bacon, egg, gruyere,
hash brown and green bean chutney for brekkie. Small plates shine throughout the rest of the day with the option to pick any three for $36 – the kitchen recommends choosing one bread, one dip and one meat. We’re definitely including the stracciatella with figs and honey dressing in our order.
