In both the Melbourne flagship and in Brisbane, Lune Croissanterie gets queues early in the morning and well into the afternoon. But there’s no way to get the show-stopping pastries in the evening.
You still won’t be able to when the team’s latest venture opens next month, but at the very least you can experience their attention to detail and thoughtful hospitality in a different setting and time of day.
Butler is a new neighbourhood wine bar set to open right beside the croissanterie in South Brisbane, by the same team: pastry chef Kate Reid, her brother and co-owner Cam Reid, and prolific Melbourne restaurateur Nathan Toleman (Liminal, Hazel and Dessous).

Hogg & Lamb, which designed Lune Brisbane as well as The Sound Garden and Bar Alto, are also in charge of interiors here, with room for 30 punters in a long, intimate space.
Like Lune, the wine bar is opening under gleaming 30-storey residential tower The Standard, opposite the entrance to Fish Lane.
Butler is opening at 15 Manning Street, South Brisbane in mid-November.
