Two of Brisbane’s Buzziest Boozers, Alice and Frog’s Hollow, Host Hot Interstate Bars
Frog’s Hollow Saloon and new sister venue Alice are having a bumper month with two parties plus takeovers from three renowned interstate venues, every Sunday between February 18 and March 24.
Adelaide dive bar Cry Baby is taking over basement bar Alice on February 18. Both bars are big on rock’n’roll; Cry Baby even named its signature cocktail – gin, sherry and lemon juice – London Calling, a nod to the Clash.
In March the team from Cry Baby’s sister venue Memphis Slim’s House of Blues is stepping behind the bar at Frog’s Hollow Saloon. Basil Hayden bourbon will play a key role – the team from the Americana-themed bar has teased bourbon twists on its classic cocktail menu.
To round out a month of takeovers, Sydney’s slightly glam, slightly grunge Bar Planet will take over Frog’s Hollow Saloon. Co-owners Alex Dowd and Daisy Tulley made names for themselves in Sydney serving Martinis that are (brace for a pun) simply out of this world and, with Hendrick’s on hand, this is an unmissable event for any Brissy-based Martini fiends.
The two bars are also hosting a couple of parties of their own, an aptly-named rave cave at Alice on February 25 and a birthday bash to celebrate Frog’s Hollow’s second birthday on March 24.
