Agnes’s pop-up woodfired bakery is returning tomorrow, once again taking over the restaurant’s Agnes Street premises.
From 7am to 12pm Wednesday to Sunday this week it will be baking the usual mix of woodfired breads, cannoli, Basque cheesecakes, cinnamon doughnuts, tarts and kouignoù amann.
Maybe bring a book. When the Agnes Bakery popped up during the March lockdown, punters lined up around the block – literally, with the queue snaking up Agnes Street, down Gotha Street, and along Barry Parade and Gipps Street all the way back towards the restaurant’s front door (although that was a one-day only affair).
Either way, the Agnes crew is laying out some two-metre markers so you can socially distance while you wait, and remember your mask – you’ll need to wear it both inside and outside the bakery.
The pop-up comes in the lead-up to Agnes Bakery opening a much-anticipated permanent outlet on James Street in September.
