The two-storey restaurant, inspired by 1930s Shanghai, is offering weekly banquets with XO seafood dumplings, barbeque-pork buns, custardy Cantonese-style egg tart and more.

Riverside Cantonese restaurant Stanley has launched a Sunday yum cha special.

From 11am to 4pm, head chef Louis Tikaram – who returned to Australia for the gig after five years heading up EP & LP in West Hollywood – will serve a banquet menu including dishes such as XO seafood dumplings; barbeque-pork buns with chilli jam; prawn spring rolls; and salt-and-pepper squid with fresh chilli and lemon.

For dessert, there's custardy Cantonese-style egg tart (a twist on Portuguese pastel de nata) and you can add on extras throughout, including Peking duck pancakes with cucumber, leek and hoisin sauce.

The two-hour sittings are $49 per person but for $149 you'll get unlimited Louis Roederer champagne as well.
