Regional Flavours, the food festival shining the spotlight on outstanding food and drink across the state, returns to South Bank Parklands for another year. For its 2021 showing, organisers have unveiled a brand-new format running every other month from June to October.
The new programs, experiences and stallholder offerings will take place across three events: Grazed and Grown (June 18 to 20), highlighting the native landscape and chefs pioneering sustainable cooking; Global Fiesta (August 20 to 22), which takes a trip around Australia's multicultural DNA and international cuisine; and Providore Park (October 15 to 17), transforming the space into an open-air delicatessen, with wine, cheese, chocolate and more on offer.
For the first event, Grazed and Grown will have a specially curated marketplace, live music stages, and talks with industry leaders hosted by beer expert (and former Broadsheet contributor) Matt Kirkegaard. It's an opportunity for guests to ask questions and hear stories from local producers and farmers on the challenges they face and topical themes.
The demonstration stage, hosted by chef and TV personality Alastair McLeod, will feature some of Brisbane's finest chefs showing off their world-class flavours and skills in line with an ethos of sustainability. Local talent includes former Masterchef winner Matt Sinclair, chef-restaurateur Josh Lopez and Otto's Will Cowper.
There are four sessions available:
Fri June 18, 4pm–8pm
Sat June 19, 11am–3pm
Sat June 19, 4pm–8pm
Sun June 20, 11am–3pm
Tickets to Grazed and Grown go on sale Friday April 23.
