Ocean View Estates Winery Tour With Tastings and Lunch
Just over an hour’s north of Brisbane lies Ocean View Estates, the award-winning winery best-known for handcrafted wines made with viognier, chardonnay, shiraz and ruby cabernet grapes.
It’s now launched a package worth of making the 45km drive into a daytrip. Ocean View Estates guided tours – run through RedBalloon – includes a stroll around its lush, sweeping grounds and vineyards, a wine tasting and a meal at the stunning on-site restaurant.
On the tour, you’ll sample varietals straight from the vat as you go behind-the-scenes of the winery and learn about the winemaking process. The tasting also includes a grazing board to tide you over before your head to the restaurant.
There, you’ll be served a main and dessert, courtesy of head chef Joel Grudoff, who did his apprenticeship at Byron Bay’s luxurious Raes on Wategos, before spending 15 years working in some of Queensland’s best restaurants.
The tours run for between two and three hours on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10.30am (please arrive 15 minutes beforehand).
