Danielle Alvarez Book Signing and Cooking Demo at Scrumptious Reads

Sat 2nd December, 2023
92a Arthur Terrace Red Hill 4059
Chef Danielle Alvarez marks the launch of her engrossing new cookbook, Recipes for a Lifetime of Beautiful Cooking, with a free author talk delving into the stories behind the book's recipes, as well as a demo on making flaky pastry and turning it into a classic pissaladiere.

Chef Danielle Alvarez's new cookbook, Recipes for a Lifetime of Beautiful Cooking, brings together the influences that have formed her cooking life into one volume of recipes for home cooking. It covers her Miami childhood and Cuban family recipes, her formative years at legendary produce-driven Californian restaurant Chez Panisse, and the time she's spent in Australia since becoming founding chef at Fred's in Sydney.

To mark the book's release, she'll appear at Scrumptious Reads for an intimate chat about the inspirations behind the book's recipes, and how she cooks beautiful food at home for family and friends. She'll also demonstrate how to make a flaky pastry and turn it into a pissaladiere (a French flatbread), a dish she learnt to cook at Chez Panisse.

At the end of the event, Alvarez will stick around for a book signing.

From 11.30am–1pm.

Tickets are free, but bookings are essential.
