Botanica: Contemporary Art Outside
Brisbane’s riverside botanic gardens are heritage-listed, with a rare collection of cycads, palms, figs and bamboo. If that isn’t enough reason for you to visit, the Botanica exhibition might change your mind.
Back for its fifth year, Botanica is a dazzling display of contemporary art installations lighting up the City Botanic Gardens. It features 10 artworks from leading artists all responding to the theme "tread softly". Expect works from Aussie artists Phoebe Paradise, Theatre of Thunder, and Keemon Williams. This year also features the exhibition’s first international artist, Noa Haim.
Expect eye-catching installations and sensory, interactive art. The immersive all-ages experience includes projections and performances from local artists, a designated discovery trail and children’s tours for kids. The nightly exhibition also includes food trucks, live music and a pop-up bar.
