Bangarra Dance Theatre is one of Australia’s top performing arts companies, combining 40,000 years of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture with contemporary dance.

The company, now in its 28th year, will on August 25 bring to the Queensland Performing Arts Centre its stunning new, full-length performance, Bennelong.

Broadsheet, in partnership with Bangarra and ARIA, is giving away four premium tickets to see the live performance, followed by a three-course dinner for four people with matched wines at one of Brisbane’s best fine dining restaurants, ARIA Brisbane. It will be a distinctly Australian evening.

Artistic director Stephen Page’s Bennelong focuses on the history of Woollarawarre Bennelong, a senior man of the Eora people and the first Aboriginal person to travel to Europe and return to Australia. It poses confronting questions about the dialogue between European and Aboriginal people.

Senior dancer Beau Dean Riley Smith, the man entrusted with bringing Bennelong’s story to life, has taken on his first lead role. Smith poured hours of research into his character and it shows in a seamless re-telling.

The competition is open from August 7 until August 18. Enter below. Read the terms and conditions here.

Bennelong will be performed at QPAC from August 25 to September 2. More information here.

Broadsheet is a proud media partner of Bangarra.
