Brisbane is getting a brand new music festival. Wildlands will move into Brisbane Showgrounds in late December, the event a collaboration between the brains behind Victoria’s Beyond the Valley and Western Australia’s Origin Fields.

The one-day festival will feature both Australian and international dance, electronic and hip-hop artists. Australian electronic artist Rüfüs Du Sol has been announced as a co-headliner, with a full line-up expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The festival should slot in neatly with Beyond the Valley and Origin Fields, both New Years events that in previous years have featured artists such as Chance the Rapper, Jamie xx, Stormzy, Cardi B, Khalid, The Kooks and Schoolboy Q.

“We’re really excited to create something just for Brisbane that will be totally different to anything currently on offer, bringing the best of the east and west cost together for one very special day,” Beyond the Valley festival director Michael Cristidis said in a statement.

Wildlands will take over Brisbane Showgrounds on Saturday December 28. You can follow line-up and ticket announcements here.
