You could do yoga on your lunch break. Or you could take online lessons from Queensland Ballet.
The company’s 2020 season may have been train-wrecked by Covid-19, but staff spent their final hours before shutdown in March recording a bunch of online classes. They are now available via the Queensland Ballet website.
The classes suit all ages, from children to seniors, and include traditional ballet, stretching and fitness classes.
Queensland Ballet is “in the business of making people happy”, artistic director Li Cunxin said in a media release. “As soon as we knew [we] wouldn’t be [performing live] over the coming months, we began brainstorming how we could continue to engage our dancers, our teams and our wider community, as we believe that is our ultimate responsibility.
“We’d like to continue these over the break, and we’re looking at ways our teachers can record sessions from their home.”
You can find the classes here.
