Melt Is Back for 2025 With Broadway Star Bernadette Peters
The beloved singer and actor is coming to Brisbane to perform exclusively at Melt this October.

Last year, Melt Festival burst onto the scene with a bang. There was a river parade helmed by Courtney Act, thousands of naked people lying on the asphalt of Story Bridge for a grand photograph taken by Spencer Tunick, and performances from Confidence Man and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

Melt is a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies, so naturally, the first artist announced for 2025 is Bernadette Peters. Peters is a Broadway darling. She’s won Tony awards and Golden Globes and been nominated for Grammys and Emmys. She’s also known for her charity work, particularly with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, which provides services for those living with AIDS and HIV.

Peters’s performance at Melt will be her first Australian performance in over a decade. She’ll be joined by Camerata, Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra.

It’s a Melt exclusive, so tell the group chat that if they want to see the queen, they’ll have to come to Brisbane.

Sign up to the waitlist for exclusive pre-sale access and further line-up announcements.

Melt will run from Wednesday October 22 until Sunday November 9.
