Dive In: A New Bathhouse Is Coming to Fish Lane

Fish Lane is bubbling over with hot restaurants like Southside, Marlowe and Clarence – and it’s right across the street from cultural destinations like QPAC and Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. But now the precinct is diving into the wellness world with a luxury bathhouse opening in 2027.

The Bathhouse Group, which runs The Bathhouse Albion, The Bathhouse Spa Queenstown in New Zealand and the soon-to-open Bathhouse Sydney, will open its fourth space on Fish Lane.

Design firm Hogg & Lamb has been tapped to create a fit-out inspired by ancient European bathing rituals. It’s still early days, but the team has teased details including silver travertine accents and atmospheric lighting.

The space will include three pools: one heated to 38 degrees, another 34-degree ambient pool and a cold plunge at 12 degrees. There will be two traditional saunas and two infrared saunas, as well as a scented steam room that will pipe through a calming signature fragrance.

There will be tea and relaxation lounges complete with a fireplace and brews from Tea Good. Guests will have access to unlimited cotton towels, Sansceuticals products in the bathroom and Dyson haircare tools.

The team hopes that the bathhouse will attract two distinct audiences: those looking to treat themselves before a meal or a play and those looking to make wellness a ritual who’ll come back regularly to the phone- and alcohol-free oasis.
