Brisbane bus drivers will strike for two mornings next week after negotiations with the council over a new enterprise agreement.

The Rail Tram and Bus Union said an overwhelming percentage of council drivers had voted in favour of taking action, citing a disregard of shift-work regulations and workplace health and safety requirements as the main problems – particularly after the murder of Manmeet Alisher while driving a council bus in Moorooka last year.

Drivers will strike from 4.30am to 6.30am on Tuesday July 18 and Wednesday July 19.
