Mount Lindesay Highway in Brisbane’s south is closed southbound after a semi-trailer lost control and caught fire. Emergency services were called to the Drewvale stretch of the arterial just before 1pm with three fire crews taking on the blaze, the Brisbane Times reports.

The truck had come to a stop at a 45-degree angle, blocking the highway, with officers diverting traffic around the scene. The truck driver was reportedly out of the vehicle and safe.

Crews are still working to remove the truck. QLD Traffic reports that northbound lanes of the highway are now open but southbound remains blocked with delays stretching back at least kilometres to Beaudesert Road in Calamvale. Diversions are in place along the Logan Motorway for motorists heading south.
