The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for south-east Queensland, including Brisbane. BOM has urged residents to prepare for possible flash flooding.

Brisbane CBD, Logan City and Strathpine are all under immediate threat. Further afield, Caboolture, Maroochydore, Kilcoy and Caloundra are also set to cop a lashing over the next few hours.

Falls of over 60 millimetres per hour have already been recorded in parts of the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane’s outer western suburbs.
