Commuters on the Gold Coast and Beenleigh lines have been warned of major delays this morning after an overhead power line fault.

Trains were initially brought to standstill between Kuraby and Ormeau in the early hours of this morning because of a power lines issue near Kingston. Trains resumed inbound at around 6.40am but buses are replacing trains for those heading to the Gold Coast between Kuraby and Varsity Lakes.

Both directions will again be suspended from 9am, the Courier Mail reports.

TransLink technicians are now on site. Follow updates via the Queensland Rail Twitter account here.
