The biannual Lifeline Bookfest returns to Brisbane this weekend.

If you’ve never been, think the Brisbane Convention Centre, hundreds of people and what Lifeline reckons is millions of books. Whether you’re on the hunt for old design books, fashion magazines, war comics or just a copy of The Great Songs of Chris de Burgh: Volume 2, the fest will have it. Somewhere.

Don’t sweat about taking a little time to dig it up either: trollies are available for hire for $2; most of the books will be a similar price. There will also be records, stationery, puzzles, DVDs, CDs, vinyl and board games for sale.

Our tip? Go early, go deep.

The Lifeline Bookfest runs January 20–28 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Entry is free. See the website for daily opening times.
