The Brisbane City Council has announced it will begin construction on a new Indooroopilly Riverwalk on Monday.

The five-metre wide riverwalk will run from Twigg Street east over the river to the Jack Pesch Bridge and the Indooroopilly Rail Station, with additional connections to Radnor Street and Riverview Terrace. The intention is to further improve cycle and pedestrian transit in the western corridor by connecting the University of Queensland with the Western Freeway bikeway.

The separated two-way cyclist and pedestrian thoroughfare will have views across the river towards the iconic Walter Taylor Bridge. It is expected to be completed by late 2021, weather and construction conditions permitting.
