Commuter chaos is expected in Brisbane this evening when activists take to the CBD to protest the recent approval of Adani’s controversial Carmichael mine.

At least 1200 protestors are expected to take part in a peak-hour march, which will begin in Brisbane Square at 5pm and end at the ABC headquarters in South Bank. City workers and commuters can likely expect road closures and significant delays to bus services.

“Members of the public are encouraged to take into consideration potential road closures and impacts on travelling if they are planning to be in the vicinity at this time,” reads a note on the Brisbane City Council’s Facebook page.
