Kin + Co. might be the most chilled cafe to ever grace the streets of Teneriffe. Look for the wooden tables on the sidewalk, the huge circular sign and the white umbrellas casting shade over the outside tables.

With bright sunlight pouring into the indoor seating area, and a minimalist white and blue interior, there’s a serious Donna Hay vibe at work here. But the space boasts plenty of history, tucked in as it is underneath the orange-brick, heritage-listed former Australian Estates warehouse on Macquarie Street.

Owned and operated by an extended family, Kin + Co goes further than most to be hospitable and welcoming. This ethos extends from the complimentary dog biscuits at the sidewalk counter, to the non-dairy milks on offer at no extra charge. In fact, all of the alternative options on the menu are at no extra cost.

Head chef Gary Binmore offers all the breakfast classics, with a slight lean towards heartier dishes. There’s a breakfast burger; savoury mince built from slow roasted beef brisket; and potato rosti with herbs, asparagus and a poached egg.

Coffee is from Louie Louie Coffee Roasters, water from Antipodes and there are plenty of smoothies to try. The friendly smiles and treats for your pup are free.
