Gas Espresso

Gas Espresso first opened in 2012, committed to offering Sherwood locals quality coffee and good food. In mid-2015 coffee aficionado and chef Andy Hong took over the keys to the cafe and its coffee roaster.

The cafe’s iconic astroturf exterior and quirky fit-out, complete with petrol pump handles, mechanical accessories and timeworn road signage, all came part and parcel with the change of hands.

The food menu is updated every few months, with the option to dine in for breakfast or lunch, or simply grab a panini or bagel and coffee to go; arrive early if a Nutella doughnut is your heart’s desire.

Choose from the house blend or a range of single origin beans that change from week to week. Hong’s prize possession is his Italian-made La Marzocco espresso machine, which he thinks is the best in the world, but he’ll happily make you a pour-over or an AeroPress, too.
