Cups on Melbourne
Menu - Mr Yum
Cups on Melbourne calls South Brisbane's Fish Lane precinct home. Co-owner Daniel Kurniawan is also a co-owner of Cups and Wells, which since 2018 has been turning heads in Salisbury with its specialty coffee and spiffy brunch menu.
The clean-design aesthetic here is the same as Cups and Wells, but applied to a semi-alfresco space: it’s crisply fitted out with concrete floors, timber and plenty of greenery. A large, handsome kiosk faces the intersection, decked out in VJ boards and white subway tiles. On the Melbourne Street side it spills out into a shady, brick-walled patio. It’s a relatively small venue, with room for no more than 30 people inside and out.
Cups on Melbourne is serving Industry Bean’s Newstead blend as, and is also offering the Melbourne import’s classic Fitzroy blend and a rotating single origin. Espresso, batch brew, pour-overs and tasting flights are also available. The coffee is backed by specialty teas and Hrvst St juices.
Food revolves around a menu of fancy jaffles, with fillings that include truffle and mushroom, and ham, cheese and caramelised onion. Otherwise, there are acai bowls and a cabinet stocked for the most part with vegan and gluten-free sweets from The Bake List.
