Clancy Sonter-Kelso had worked in hospitality for six years and always wanted to run his own cafe. Oliver Burscough, director at Woodsters Furniture & Carpentry, had helped many Brisbane venues create stunning fit-outs.
Together, they decided to open Clancy’s Espresso. The cafe serves coffee from Sydney's Single O and pastries from Jocelyn’s Provisions. It also serves a selection of wraps and bagels, including a Reuben with pastrami, sauerkraut, pickles, mustard, Swiss cheese and aioli.
Sonter-Kelso is a Norman Park resident and found the dingy, triangle-shaped supplements store himself. He and Burscough completely gutted the shop and gave the exterior and interior a fresh paint-job – a minimalist black-and-white colour scheme, retaining plenty of timber elements, and adding a whole lot of greenery.
