Features
Hole-in-the-wall bakery Cerin Pasticceria churns out hundreds of cornetti a day. Cornetto is Italy’s wonderful croissant-doughnut hybrid; the flaky dough is packed with vanilla and citrus, before fillings like custard, cream and jam are piped in.
The crowd-favourites here are vanilla custard and roasted pistachio. Otherwise, join the queue for textbook ricotta cannoli; fruit tarts; Nutella bomboloni; and Roman maritozzi – fluffy chocolate-coated brioche buns filled with whipped cream. Savoury options include a carbonara-inspired danish, focaccia sandwiches and pizza by the slice.
The space is bright and airy with white marble benchtops and a glass window which gives punters a glimpse of the action in the kitchen.
