Stratton Bar & Kitchen
For the sequel to their cocktail-slinging bar Mrs Brown’s, owners Taryn and Ben Brown transformed two World War II-era hangars into a spacious and versatile local on par with their first venue just down the street.
Enter to find an open, moody space with old hangar arches and an expansive skylight above. Designed with three different modes in mind, enjoy the atrium-style bar for an aperitif and for the main event, or take a seat in the central dining room anchored by a 30-seat table made from recycled timber.
The streamlined bar (which spans almost half the venue) houses an extensive drinks menu including bright, beautiful wines categorised by their taste and style, and a whopping cocktail list of 35 drinks including an Aussie Negroni made with all-local spirits. There’s also a good range of non-alcoholic options.
The cuisine-crossing food menu consists of pizzas and curries, plus some innovative highlights such as cheeseburger dumplings, cacio e pepe udon, an Iranian shirazi salad, and a chicken karaage milk bun.
