Beer has come a long way in Brisbane. With their no-nonsense approach to ale, Matt Emmerson and the team at Brewski have proven themselves a major player in the new wave of beer. And on Caxton Street, of all places.

This attitude is literally spelled out upon entering, with “IPA” illuminated in bright letters. Although India Pale Ale is the favoured style of beer at Brewski, the bar offers one of the widest varieties of bottled beer in Brisbane with more than 200 to choose from.

The rotating taps feature draughts from local breweries such as Noisy Minor, Green Beacon, Fortitude Brewing and Newstead Brewing along with national heroes Feral, 4 Pines and Little Creatures.

From Monday to Thursday, pair your drink with specials such as two-for-one meals on Mondays, or $10 “Proper Pizzas” on Tuesdays. The menu favours beer, unsurprisingly. Highlights include popcorn chicken and pineapple salsa wings. Expect heavy crowds on game days you can book ahead, or you can take your chances on the deck out back.
