The World Press Photo Exhibition returns to the Brisbane Powerhouse this weekend, presenting its usual trove of compelling and intimate moments captured by the world’s best photojournalists.

The exhibition profiles the winners of the annual World Press Photo Contest. The 2018 contest drew 73,044 images from 4548 photographers in 125 countries around the world, with the competition jury handing out prizes in eight categories to 42 snappers from 22 countries, including Australia.

The exhibition features the winning images across all of the contest categories. It opens this Saturday in the Powerhouse’s Turbine Studio, Visy Foyer and other exhibition spaces.
