It’s been a tough few years fundraising, rebuilding, and withstanding all that Covid brought with it. So the iconic theatre is throwing a free, four-day reopening festival to celebrate – just turn up and expect the unexpected.

For the next 12 months, six striking designs will be cruising the streets, showcasing the knowledge, stories and lore of local First Peoples.

The 1400-square-metre retail store in Melbourne’s east will stock furniture and homewares at up to 50 per cent off.

The Prahran warehouse has been transformed into a community-minded haven for green thumbs. It’s stocked with fiddle-leaf figs, palms, cacti and more. And prices start from $20 for full-priced plants.

Classes are led by qualified physiotherapists, and will take you through stability, strength and conditioning, ante and post-natal, over-65s sessions and guided meditations. And there are specific programs for those working from home.

From two Victorian photographers, the site features striking photographs of the Australian landscape; a dark take on the Happy Meal; kid-friendly illustrations of joeys and wombats; and even a visual representation of an iconic Seinfeld scene.

The tiny store was opened by a former high-school economics teacher looking for a way to reduce his balcony cacti collection. Now it stocks vintage homewares, old gardening books and hundreds of plants (starting at $12).

After selling online for seven years, the website – which is devoted to supporting Australian artists and Aussie-made works – launches with an exhibition of its most popular artists.
