Australia’s debut podcast festival is giving local listeners an IRL outlet, with a one-day event in Sydney, featuring Abbie Chatfield, Hannah Ferguson and more.

We want to get out there, it’s true. And there are people leading the charge with creative events centred on food – and you’re encouraged to go solo. We chatted with some of the teams, and put together a list of our favourites.

Get sweaty on state-of-the-art Technogym cardio machines, or stretch it out in a Pilates class before winding down in the sauna or with a recovery gun. (It’s even got a dry-cleaning service.)

Like in the Eternal City, pizza here is sold by weight. The bases are crisp with puffy interiors and toppings like earthy mushrooms on parmesan cream; salami, fior di latte and mozzarella; and silverbeet with confit tomatoes, feta and parmesan.

Helmed by hospitality legends Andy Emerson and Jesse McTavish, the breezy wine bar in former sandwich shop Sandy’s is serving show-stopping Moreton Bay bug buns, obscure wines and beachy cocktails.
