Nook Nosh
Sometimes, yelling over the top of pumping music isn’t the best way to unwind on a Friday night. If audible conversation and top-notch wine in a relaxed, homely setting is more your scene, consider welcoming the weekend at Nook Nosh.
Owner Lisa Stone designed the space to feel like your good friend’s lounge room. The rustic warmth of the exposed brick walls, black painted ceiling and hanging light fittings creates the sort of easy comfort that makes it difficult to tear yourself away from the candlelit booth.
Nook Nosh offers a small but polished selection of locally produced wine, craft beer and cider. The list changes frequently, with nearly all wines available by the glass, making it possible for guests to sample a selection of boutique drops.
The nibbles menu consists of small plates and grazing platters of gourmet South Australian produce. There’s warmed olives, roasted nuts, grilled haloumi, mushroom pâté, duck terrine, local cheeses and plenty of house-made dips and dukkah to enjoy with pieces of sourdough bread.
On Sunday afternoons an acoustic band somehow manages to squeeze inside and provide tunes – at barely more than conversation level, of course.
