Yeah Nah Yeah
Yeah Nah Yeah is just outside Mitcham Square Shopping Centre (home of must-try Portuguese-tart-haven Saudade) on Belair Road. It replaced homey cafe Nana’s Kitchen Table, which co-owner Aimee Kempster took over in 2018 before shutting up shop in October for renos and a rebrand.
Now, it’s light and bright, with a blush-pink, neon-clad feature wall, sleek black furnishings, and dangling greenery. Outside there’s a new breezy, fenced-off seating area.
The menu is a mixed bag. Replenish after a night out with a “big, fat” eggs Benny, a hash-brown stack with all the breakfast trimmings, or an enormous fried-chicken burger. For something lighter, past dishes have included granola-topped breakfast panna cotta and a dainty beetroot-and-fig number with chevre. There's usually a couple of solid vegan options, too. Previous highlights have involved Korean-barbeque-style jackfruit bao buns and popcorn cauliflower. There’s also a cabinet-full of ready-to-go sangas.
Muffins and tarts are baked in-house, and coffee is by Underdale roaster Show Pony (a second, premium label by the illusive BLK MRKT team.
