Rozelle’s
Menu
Carrick Hill, the 100-acre estate in the foothills that feels reminiscent of a Jane Austen novel, has long had visitors flocking to its historic Edwardian manor, sprawling lawns, manicured hedges, a rose garden and pear arbour. Rozelle’s – a casual Italian eatery from the family behind Chianti and Bar Torino – is yet another excellent reason to visit this Adelaide destination.
With panoramic windows overlooking the gardens, the city and even the ocean, Rozelle’s is an ideal setting for a lazy long lunch. Start with a spritz and take in the views before making your way through a menu of produce-driven Italian dishes, from globe artichoke fritti with salsa verde mayo to whipped goat’s curd with peas and broad beans.
Swathes of secondi including baked rigatoni alla vodka, roast chook and photogenic pizzas (hand-stretched with four-day-fermented poolish dough) are blasted in the massive woodfired oven at the back of the dining room.
Cap off your meal with a limoncello cannolo, some tiramisu, or – apropos of the setting – scones with jam and clotted cream. The venue opens at 10am, so you can also stop by in the morning for coffee and pastries by Gabi Flohr aka Sheoak Baker.
