Right Hand Distribution has always been something of a boys’ club. Its original East End location, with its shanty/workshop aesthetic and an unmistakable focus on exclusivity and craftsmanship, established RHD as a destination for masculine brands of distinction.

As a purveyor of fine Japanese denim and a modest range of hand-selected outerwear, RHD caters to the gentlemen whose eye is on quality more so than the pricetag.

Launched by Andy Watson in 2009, RHD undertook a brief residency at Melbourne’s Captains of Industry, before returning home to its present site just off Hindley Street.

New owner Josh Krake hunts denim like a bloodhound does a fox. He takes regular buying trips to Japan to source rarely obtainable brands that fit his sustainable/artisanal ethos and aesthetic. As a result, the stock is more than just garments on a rack.

Each piece represents a history that honours the wearer with pedigree.
