Hebe & Co
Features
The struggle to find a make-up and skincare hub where she could browse every shelf without a guilty conscience led Jenny Tibbenham to open her own.
Every product at Hebe & Co is vegan and cruelty-free. Almost the entire range is Australian-made, and some of the skincare lines - from Saya, Byron Bay Skincare and Coconut Tree, for examples - use native botanicals such as Illawarra flame tree, quandong and Kakadu plum.
There are also two popular US brands, Medusa's Make-up and Concrete Minerals (previously only available via long waits by the letterbox), natural deodorants, fragrant soy candles, two men's ranges and a range for babies.
The space, too, is the opposite of what you expect from make-up stores.
Recycled pallets, timber electrical wire drums and gorgeous old rugs dominate Hebe & Co's natural aesthetic, which is a deliberate riposte to the shiny blacks, sleek chromes and clinical facades of typical cosmetic franchises.
Framed photos of the family doggo, kind staff (it's a family affair) and two neighbouring vegan shops (Juice Lovers and Oh Deer Sugar), make Hebe & Co a personable stop for any animal-loving shopper.
