Eleni Georgakopoulos wanted to open her own store in Adelaide ever since she can remember. With seven years of retail experience and an eye for clothing that has made her wardrobe the envy of her peers, she founded Ginger Frank in mid 2018.
The boutique, named after her tan daschund Frank, stocks small independent labels such as Permanent Vacation, Poms, Sister Studios, Lenni the Label and Kuwaii. It’s a combination of emerging and established fashion talent, some of which Georgakopoulos was responsible for bringing to Adelaide for the first time.
Much like Georgakopoulos’s personal collection, the clothes and accessories at Ginger Frank are colourful and feminine. Pieces of embellished crushed velvet stand beside two-tone silk dresses and crisp summer linens, highlighting the variety of clientele that Ginger Frank attracts.
The heritage building has been stripped back, and the previously hidden wooden floorboards have been revealed. The dressing rooms are draped with teal velour curtains, which complement the blush velour couch.
