Despite the name, if you listen carefully you'll still hear people quietly ask, “Is everything here vegan?” But no question about veganism is too daft for the enthusiastic staff.
As Adelaide's one-stop cruelty-free destination, Everything Vegan proves a vegan diet can be more than mung beans. The assortment of alternatives is vast. There’s cheesecake, instant noodles, marshmallows, macaroni and cheese, gummy bears and more. Pop by on Sundays for free tastings.
Besides ethical edible goods, you'll find an array of home and personal products, pet food, clothing and make-up. The small cafe offers raw cakes, doughnuts, hot pies and coffee, perfect for filling your belly before exploring the store. Though the products can be pricey, many aren’t available anywhere else in the state.
It may seem like a niche store, but Everything Vegan has proven to be popular among all dietary persuasions. What began as an online store became the shop, with a queue down Goodwood Road on opening day. Mother and daughter owners Kym Henley and Kelly Dinham also operate Freedom Hill Sanctuary, so all the store's profits go back into animal rescue.
