The iconic Rundle Street space that previously housed Jock Zonfrillo’s acclaimed eateries Orana and Bistro Blackwood is now Two-Pot Screamer, a two-level eatery and cocktail bar by hospitality group, Penny Hospitality (Lions Art Factory, Joe’s Kiosk and the West Oak Hotel).

The restaurant downstairs is a fun and nostalgic successor to Orana, a restaurant that’s left an undeniable imprint on Adelaide’s dining scene. It’s handsome, too, with plenty of natural timber, earthy hues, classic bentwood furniture and massive windows gazing out over a handful of extra seats along the mall.

In the kitchen, chef Miles Davies (formerly of Golden Boy and Grote Street Italian stalwart Auge) continues Two Pot’s vision of playful takes on modern Australian cuisine classics; all done with fine-dining flair.

You might start with roasted oysters, ’nduja and finger lime; followed by mains such as kangaroo satay; or a Wagyu ribeye with kohlrabi, pepper sauce and anchovy. Finish with a not-so-classic pavlova with kiwifruit, mascarpone cream and mint oil.

Upstairs in the old Orana space, a ‘70s-inspired cocktail bar has taken over with a vibrant pink colour palette and a balcony overlooking Rundle Street. Come here for well-made drinks highlighting South Australian makers and ingredients, plus local beer and wine. A quality soundtrack ties it all together.
