Niña is a love letter to Spanish cuisine by food blogger Brenda Loveday, Jessica Purcell and Leonardo Loureiro (Basque by Leo). The 52-seater sits within Sofitel Adelaide, offering a rotating menu that’s perfect for sharing.

Food-wise, expect to try 15 years of recipes built up by Loureiro, who aims to add creative twists to traditional Spanish dishes. Highlights have included charred octopus with romesco sauce, mussels with tarragon aioli, and – of course – Basque cheesecake.

Niña’s drinks list has been crafted to showcase smaller South Australian producers where possible, with a preference for biodynamic drops. Beyond the local, there’s a splash of unexpected international wines from Spain to Austria and South Africa. There’s also a selection of non-alcoholic drinks and Spanish beers. As far as cocktails go, Purcell recommends the Vida Borracha, a twist on the Boulevardier that’s dangerously easy to drink.
