Lickerish has been doing its thing since 2012. The name, meaning “greedy”, or to “relish fine food”, hints at the motivations of owners John and Justine Hall, the 2005 winners of My Restaurant Rules and former owners of The Greedy Goose.

Together they oversee a relaxing, ambient indoor space enhanced by private outdoor balconies suited for an intimate beachside meal.

Fairy lights and candles add a touch of warmth, especially at night. Colourful pieces from local Adelaide artists adorn the walls. A collection of photos from staff and happy customers shares stories of the engagements, weddings and gatherings held at Lickerish over the years.

You can enjoy an entree or main alone, but the menu encourages sharing. It’s also fully flexible and can be customised given sufficient notice.

Smaller plates include everything from olives and house-made dips, to crispy pork belly, marinated Port Lincoln octopus, and zucchini flowers. Bigger options might include a fillet-steak sandwich, handmade saffron gnocchi or gourmet pizzas. The pork shoulder, roasted to order over 48 hours, underscores the power of ginger, kimchi and spicy, umami-rich ssam (chilli) sauce.

Lavazza coffee is served traditionally, or whipped into frothy espresso or mocha Martinis. The extensive drinks list features a range of South Australian wines, alongside local and imported beers, ciders and cocktails.
