Good Life Modern Organic Pizza Glenelg
If you walk too fast down Jetty Road, you might miss Good Life Pizza’s second location. Brothers Jake and Martin Greenrod expanded their passion project a year after opening the original spot on Hutt Street in 2003.
A nondescript doorway leads you upstairs to an open-plan dining area, most of which is a large balcony overlooking Mosely Square. The interior is rustic chic, with an open fireplace for winter. White pizza boxes tower in the kitchen for takeaway’s before being filled with pizza and wrapped in brown string - adding to the rustic interior and hand-made feel.
The two locations share identical menus. There are classics such as margherita and Hawaiian, though Good Life uses Barossa Valley double-smoked bacon instead of ham. Other choices include free-range butter chicken with roasted sweet potato and coriander cashew pesto; and Swiss brown mushrooms with organic lemon aioli. Pizzas come in a nine-inch or 12-inch sizes. The dough is made with Laucke organic flour, filtered water and yeast, then rested for 24 hours.
Move across the menu to find four desserts, one being the Filthy Rich Chocolate Pudding with vanilla ice-cream and chocolate sauce.
The Greenrods bought a McClaren Vale vineyard in 2013. It’s used to produce easy-drinking shiraz and cabernet under the name Greenroad Wine. These feature on the menu alongside plenty of other wines from South Australia.
