Almost half of Wolfie’s Records is filled with vinyl: new releases and repressings; a sprawling, well- categorised selection of second-hand stuff; collectable rarities; 45s; and four-for-$20 bargains. Stock turns over quickly, so the “Just Arrived” crates are refreshed regularly. Wolfie’s also trades in out-of-print and hard-to-find DVDs and tapes, plus clothing and music memorabilia.

The staff can also sort out your hifi setup with a range of high-quality, carefully selected vintage turntables, amps and speakers. If you’re fortunate to stop by when elusive owner Wolfgang Schiblhut is in store, pick his brain about the right equipment for listening to your collection.

Don’t be surprised to hear Led Zeppelin backed up with Talking Heads, Radio Birdman or Nina Simone while you browse. Whatever’s spinning on the shop stereo is the cashier’s choice. With such a broad library to select from, it’s as eclectic as the store’s merchandise.

Wolfie’s also hosts the occasional live gig, making use of its tiny corner stage.
