Tony Tomatoes is real-deal Italian. The chefs are certified pizza makers, approved by the Accademia Italiana della Pizza in Italy.

After the success of their nearby Italian restaurant Ruby Red Flamingo, owners Lauro Siliquini and Enzo Verdino travelled around Italy looking for the best pizza, and came back with the knowledge that underpins Tony Tomatoes.

The pizzas come in traditional and modern forms alike. Highlights include the Tony 3 Times (tomato, mozzarella, ham, salami and Barossa speck) and the Mr Pig (broccoli, mozzarella, pork and fennel sausage and fresh chilli). You can choose your crust thickness, with either a white flour base, a lighter crisp base, or gluten-free. If you’re not a pizza fan, no fear, there are plenty of Italian main courses to substitute.

The drinks selection isn’t large, but this is the kind of place you’ll be happy to order the house option. Most of the wines are Italian, naturally, but there are a few South Australian options thrown in. There’s also a small selection of Italian inspired cocktails, with prosecco, Cinzano Rosso and amaretto featuring heavily. Try the signature Tony Negroni (gin, Cinzano Rosso, Averna and Campari).
