Ellininko, helmed by Antonis Savas and head chef Ioannis Patros, opened in Malvern in April 2025.
The pair is serving up all the classics. There’s pastitsio (made with a family recipe that’s been passed through four generations), traditional Cypriot loukaniko and halloumi, and house-made dips like taramosalata, scordalia and melitzanosalata. Meat is served three ways: “naked”, on platters, or wrapped in a pita. There’s a focus on provenance with the lamb and beef sourced from Pfitzner Farm in Bordertown. Beyond that, there’s a series of nostalgia-laden dishes including gemista (baked capsicum stuffed with herbed rice) and hearty moussaka. Desserts like loukoumades and galaktoboureko (filo pastry filled with semolina custard and soaked in a citrus syrup) round out the menu.
On the drinks front, there are Greek spirits like ouzo and tsipouro, as well as holiday favourite Mythos lager and South Australian wine and beer.
