Features
If you know the story behind your food, you’re more likely to enjoy it. That’s the philosophy at The Seasonal Garden Cafe, a colourful spot that prides itself on supplying local, seasonal, sustainable goods.
Owner Silvia Hart and her team prepare fresh, hearty meals using greens from Salad Greens & Kitchen Herbs in Chapel Hill; baked goods from Rustico; cheese from Udder Delights across the street; and salmon from nearby Harris Smokehouse.
Hart was raised in a Hungarian/Italian family that loved coming together for big feasts. She continues this tradition at the cafe, decorating it with items from her own home and inviting any and all to share in the warmth. The washrooms are even decorated in blank patterns for visitors to colour-in at their leisure.
Almost everything on the menu, from salads to burgers, can be prepared for vegans and vegetarians. The chefs will also prepare allergen-free meals upon request. Everyone gets looked after in this garden.
