For 10 years, CafeSmart has supported local not-for-profit organisations with its annual fundraising initiative for Australians in need. To date, the initiative has raised $1.5 million for over 1000 local projects

If you buy a coffee on Friday August 6, participating cafes will donate $1 to support homeless charities and services close to your neighbourhood. As for you – you legend – you can donate the price of another coffee via a QR code that will appear on the cafe’s coffee cup stickers, posters and whatnot. In fact, that’s something you can do any time that week, between August 2 and 8. Find a cafe close to you here.

Of course, it’s possible your local participating cafe will have temporarily shut its doors during lockdown or at least limited itself to just a takeaway window. But that’s okay – you can even help out without leaving the house. Check out your favorite cafe’s social media, as they might be fundraising online, or go to the CafeSmart homepage to make a direct donation. You can also use use the interactive map to find your local CafeSmart cafe.
