When customers are nattering as excitedly about an espresso machine as the coffee it’s producing, you know you’re someplace that knows good "joe".
Boasting Adelaide’s first six-group brewing rig – a custom-built Synesso Hydra which can pour 12 shots at once – Pure Boutique Coffee Bar is out to own the Bayside scene. It was also the first South Australian venue to install nitrogen-charged cold brew on tap, which it pours alongside local and imported craft beers.
Now in a second, larger Jetty Road site, Pure presents an ambitious concept to combine an all-day menu with an ever-changing selection of beers, crafty cocktails and, of course, coffee.
Expect to see four or more options from a medley of roasters, plus filter and syphon alternatives. A barista’s choice is chalked up daily – it’s useful if you’re feeling overwhelmed.
Broad street frontage, a rough timber fit-out and slow-moving ceiling fans lend an air of Port Douglas tropicality, reinforced by the inventive menu and day-long liquor service.
Share a selection from the sliders menu, or try something more along the line of the battered triple-cream brie with roasted beetroots, orange segments, asparagus and almonds. Finish with a Peruvian single origin espresso martini with Mr Black cold drip liqueur.
